A guided tour of the bustling Locarno, home of the famous International Film Festival and Moon & Stars Open-Air Music Festival. Walking along the lake, through its magnificent Piazza Grande and the picturesque narrow streets, discover the beauty of a city bathed in a Mediterranean climate, appreciated since ancient times and chosen by the Romans as a place of settlement. Admire the Visconti Castle, the most important historical monuments and churches, and stately homes with their elegant exterior decoration. Craft shops and high-quality boutiques enliven the narrow pedestrian streets.
During the tour our guide will point out the historical sites of the 1925 peace conference and explain how Locarno was then given the name „ Città della Pace“ - the „City of Peace“.
